Strength for the Day

Happy New Year everyone (belated as it is)! I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday season (we most certainly did)! May God continue to bless you all and grow you in Him as I know he has done for me and pray that He will continue to do in this coming year.
I'd like to ask you all to pray for a friend of mine; her name is (coincidentally) Kristin. She is a wonderful person to be around, and although I only see her once or twice a year, I am very proud to call her my friend. :) She is having some health issues right now that are related to a horse riding accident a while back as well as a running injury; she has been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. Kristin is in her senior year of highschool (homeschooled), and is the oldest of 7 children. Much more than that I can't give you right now, but we know that God knows and is capable of anything, including healing Kristin! Thank you so much for your prayers! Many, many blessings to you all! ~Kristen

God hath not promised skies always blue,

Flower-strewn pathways all our lives thro';
God hath not promised sun without rain,
joy without sorrow, peace without pain.

God hath not promised we shall not know
Toil and temptation, trouble and woe;
He hath not told us we shall not bear
Many a burden, many a care.

God hath not promised smooth roads and wide,
Swift, easy travel, needing no guide;
Never a mountain rocky and steep,
Never a river turbid and deep.

But God hath promised strength for the day,
Rest for the laborer, light for the way,
Grace for the trials, help from above,
unfailing sympathy, undying love.
