A Reflection of His Mercy....

This is a beautiful prayer that I read in a book called Raising Maidens of Virtue by Stacy McDonald.

Dear Lord, let my life be a reflection of Your mercy
and goodness. Allow a lovely and gentle spirit to
shine forth from me. Make my countenance properly
express your holiness. Keep me from attempting to
glorify myself and help me to instead glorify You in
all that I do, wear, and proclaim. Take my life, Lord--
do with it what You will, and make me content and
joyful always and in everything. Amen.

That just expresses so perfectly what I want to say to Him; I'm so thankful that He showed me this prayer, so that I can give it back to Him with all of my heart.
Many blessings!

Just a minute

I have only just a minute
only sixty seconds in it
forced upon me can't refuse it
didn't seek it didn't choose it
but it's up to me to use it
I must suffer if I lose it
give account if I abuse it
Just a tiny little minute
but eternity is in it!

Here's the Answer

Ok, I'm finally posting the answer to the riddle in the previous post....If you have not read the riddle, then don't read any further! Go back and try to figure it out; especially if you like a challenge. :)

Anyway....here it is!

Just to review; you have eight pennies, and you're trying to find the one that is lighter than the rest by using a balance scale (and a little brain power), in only two moves.

To solve :
  • Take six of the pennies and put three on each side of the scale. If one side is lighter than the other, then keep the three on the lighter side.
  • Pick two of the pennies from the lighter side and weigh them. If one is lighter than the other, then there's your answer. If they are the same, then the penny that you did not weigh is the lighter one.
  • If you weighed the six pennies and both sides of the scale were equal, then take the other two (remember you had eight) and weigh them to find the lighter penny.

A math riddle....

Ok, here's a math riddle that will keep your brain working until all hours of the night. :)

You have eight pennies. All are exactly the same weight except one, which is slightly lighter. If you are given a balance scale, how, in only two moves, can you determine which is the lighter penny?
It is possible, I assure you.

I'll give you the answer later...sometime in the next couple of days!
Have fun! Oh, and I'd love to know who (if anyone) figures it out!

Blessings!

Envy or Holy Desire?

Hello all! I'd like to share this post with you from GirlTalk (linked to on YLCF). When Someone Else gets What We Want is a wonderful article on desire, and how to tell the difference between a holy desire and envy...you can also read the previous article and the one that came after, which are both basically on the same subject. I'd love to hear your thoughts! Blessings!
